Lone Survivor is a nonfiction book and it is written by Marcus Luttrell with the help of a ghost writer and novelist Patrick Robinson. The book is published by Little, Brown and Company. The book is based on a mission described by a man who was in the mission and survived. Marcus Luttrell himself is a lone survivor and this story is also true. In this book first he described his training time with his friends, and then he tells about his visit to Afghanistan. He mainly described his mission called “Operation Red Wings” with his friends and fellow members.

They had to observe a village and kill Taliban leaders which suppose to be allied with Osama bin laden. One night when they were hiding in the mountains a shepherd came here by chance and they caught him, they debate about what to do with this situation and the captain Michael Murphy decided to let him go. An hour later they were surrounded by dozens of Taliban. How they stand up to Taliban and give their lives for their country and how Marcus survived? You have to read the book to find answers to all these questions.
